For centuries on end, one good financial source of many is gold investment. Whichever way you look at it, investing in gold coins is considered a stable investment. You will get a good return on your investment if it has been done correctly. One of the best ways to get into the gold circle is by buying gold coins. What is the percentage you want to keep aside to invest in gold coins? The recommended percentage is from ten to thirty percent, of the allocated total capital. Depending on the volatility of the economy, you can decide which end of the stick you want to be attached to. Even today, gold coins are an investor’s favourite perennials. Gold coins and rare coins have a distinctive difference in that rare coins are determined on its rarity, whereas gold coins depend on the metal. Gold coins are more beneficial than bars, as they come in smaller sizes.

What is it that makes gold coins invaluable? The value of your gold coin depends on the current price of gold in the market. The gold coin quality also plays a significant role. If your coin has less handling and wear, then its worth is more. The rarity of a gold coin is also important. If a set of rare coins is being circulated less, then its worth automatically goes up - meaning the gold prices go up. You can determine if you want to invest in rare coins or gold coins, as they both bring a valuable return in two different ways.

Once you’ve decided to buy gold coins and do gold investment, don’t hesitate to run it immediately rather than depending on an investor’s word that the gold prices will fall fortuitously. Gold is not similar to the stock exchange, where you have reports which indicate bad earnings once every few months. Gold is not likely to suddenly fall in value and price, even though the economy is crumbling around you. In fact this is the very reason you must take a chance and invest in gold coins.

If you are to buy gold coins, ensure that you get them from an established source with a good reputation, since gold that is not in perfect condition will not give you the desired return at all. You can also make a consideration in buying rare coins. But you need to be completely aware of what you are doing, as otherwise buying rare coins will turn out to be too risky of an investment. Buy your rare coins from an established coin collection and have it appraised by an independent source, before finalizing your sale. You can also buy gold coins from online auction houses and gold investment sites. Remember that there is always a risk when buying through the Internet. Make certain that the online auction site that is selling you these coins are reputable dealers and will insure your shipment. Whichever way you decide to buy your coins, ensure that they are certified. Uncertified coins risk being counterfeit coins. While the coin itself might be genuine, since there is no way to tell, you will have to recertify them anyway.

Civil War D
cor

By GL ONEAL

There is no better way to show your patriotic side than to treat your home with interior dcor that oozes with a touch of history and the civil war era. Civil war dcor is inspired by the era when ordinary Americans became heroes as they fought for their rights and their families. It was during the time of federalism when the British culture had made a large influence on American lifestyle; hence, there are some similarities between civil war themes and the British colonial way of interior decoration.

Furniture and Rooms

Thinking of this era makes us imagine uniformed military men meeting in secrecy in a mansion, a sprawling ranch house, or a backroom of a bar. The furniture is commonly made from heavy wood. There are large wooden desks, high-backed and winged chairs with red cushions on the seats, dark wooden floors with several thick rugs, and wood panels on the walls. If we allow ourselves to imagine further, we might see one of these panels slide open by a secret mechanism (or not so secret-they are almost always opened by a book on the shelf).

Play on this image of the civil war era. Make the room reflect what you see in your imagination. Dark wood furniture like mahogany makes gives that formal appeal of old. Keep the floors bare if permissible. The wood panels on the walls can be left as it is, or you can use wallpaper with simple and elegant patterns. Remember that American households used to look a lot like British parlors. The rooms are warm and cozy with plenty of furniture and accessories.

Room Accessories

Among the most common accessories of this theme are rifles and weapons. Hanging an old rifle over the liquor cabinet (made of from dark-stained wood, of course) makes the area look formidable and truly a mans corner. On a long stretch of bare wall, rifles and scabbards are often crossed when mounted. If youll be mounting weapons as room accessories, they have to be in perfect condition and not ready to fall apart. They must always be kept clean and free from rust-although some decorators prefer to retain the old and worn out appearance of the weapons.

Families that had a close association with the war often have tapestries and banners that are both symbolic and patriotic. They can be hung on the walls of receiving areas and study rooms. A desk always looks grand and imposing when old banners and memorabilia are hung on the wall behind it.

Most memorabilia, like weapons, are not easy to come by though, especially if you havent inherited such items from the older generations that have lived through the era. What you can do is purchase paintings, watercolors and sketches bout the civil war. Ornaments in the shape of eagles and stars will also fit into this theme. Stacked shelve with hardbound books will not look amiss either.

This era may not have been a pleasant one for some, but it is still a part of American history. Using it as inspiration for room decor is not a remembrance of sad memories, but an honoring of those who are worthy of honor.
