The Real Debate on Long Island

Long Island L.I.V.E. is a company built around talent

including that of the CEO who strongly urges other artist to do the same. He is

also CEO of livetimerecords, L.I.T. productions and 05 Publishing. He is the

first rapper to challenge the industry to not only feel his rhymes but admire

his business strategy. He is devoted to the culture and has found a way to

create jobs for those who need it most. Long Island Sound rappers have big shoes

to fill. Groups like De La Soul, A tribe Called Quest, EPMD, Public enemy and

artists like Method Man, Rakim, Craig Mack, and Prodigy all have one thing in

common - they come from the home of the world famous Nassau coliseum.

The company cultivates talent into independent business

owners who market themselves globally in the cyber world. The majority of our

artists arent looking for a traditional deal. When you visit the site it is

obvious he believes in what he is doing and he backs all of his artists and

producers by putting his name/reputation on their work. He is quoted as saying,

"Long island rappers are cut from a different cloth we add the business savvy to

the game"

Livetimerecords is the way of the future and as other

companies look for moguls like Jay-Z and Steve Jobs to re-invent the industry,

they are embracing the situation and capitalizing on the principles that any

self made individual utilizes. Halloween is the tentative date for the release

of L.I.V.E.s album on Amazon. Our biggest accomplishment and goal are the

same: to rid the world of poverty and suffering. Since our djs and promoters

represent diverse cultures including, Haitian, Jamaican, Dominican, European,

and Asian we take our proceeds and invest them back home as the Jamaicans

would say. We are spreading peace and love both in our music and our charitable

giving. Bottom line is it is time for the creative minds on Cedar St (well known

in Long Island) to merge with the beautiful minds on Wall Street and bring more

wealth to the only industry positioned for the 22nd century and beyond.

We have a time tested marketing strategy. Since the 90s

our djs and promoters have been growing their clientele through their party and

event exposure. We cater to very exclusive crowds and have access to hundreds of

thousands of partygoers at any time. For example this weekend our promoter of

the year "Caress" from Floridas Sitee promotions (www.siteepromotions.com)

will be hosting a dozen different venues out in Miami each with its own unique

crowd. He can use the time to promote artists music or products from corporate

sponsors. Our most successful DJ is DJ Chaps (Talib Kwelis DJ) from one of Long

Islands most well known and successful companies 12inch Assassins

(www.12inchsounds.com). Caress owes his success to key partnerships with New

Yorks own Prince from Showcase Entertainment, Junior from Club Premier, DJ

bulletproof from Mix 96, Papa Keith from Renegade Sound and most of all Joey

Badafuco and Tony Smalls from X/O Management & the 96 Family.

There are many more trying to join the movement. The award

for most improved promoter went to Popsy of Starfridays (aka Family Ink) on Long

Island. With a large network and collaborations with trend setters like Gianni

Brown of Genre Music Group will help livetimerecords revolutionize the game. As

the game becomes more digital, we become more L.I.V.E. The father company

behind the whole operation is T.W.O.D.E.E.P. Inc. (The Way Our Dreams Embrace

Every People) This Corporation creates a platform for those in the urban

entertainment industry to get the exposure they need by setting up websites and

blogs and handling the management and marketing of the independent businesses.

The unique thing about the corporation is that it is the most trusted liaison

between the urban culture and the corporate culture. They deal with exclusive,

loyal crowds and give corporate sponsors the opportunity to work with their

network of djs to promote products. "We offer a fresh look at advertising we

are branding as "adverteasements" says the CEO of TWODEEP inc. Corporations

Do This Before You Pursue A Relationship
By Debbie Allen

Even as children most of us dream about what our life partner will be like. Some of focus on the appearance of our mate and others focus more on the personality of that special person. The truth is that almost everyone of us will feel that we are in love at some point in our lifetime. Being in love does not guarantee our happiness, but being in love with a compatible person might. That is why there are a few steps to take before pursuing a relationship in order to ensure that it will be a great one.

The steps are easy but they can be time-consuming. The reason is that you should give careful consideration to each step. Okay, please see the list below:

1) Get to know yourself

2) Consider your dreams, goals and plans

3) Decide what, if anything, you are willing to compromise on

4) If children are in your plans determine a parenting style you are comfortable with

5) Consider your budgeting style, are you a spender or a saver

When I listed ‘get to know yourself’ as step one I thought many people might misunderstand. You see, this is really the most time-consuming step for most people. In order to know yourself you will need to carefully analyze what is important to you. After completing this step you will be able to tell anyone your basic thoughts about the fundamentals of life.

I suggest that you begin with your values, faith, and ethics. I always find it helpful to make lists on paper (or a computer screen) so I can look over it. But if you prefer making the list in your head that is fine. The purpose of defining these things for yourself is so that you can decide just how important they are to you. For instance, if you are a very religious person you may plan to raise your children with that same religion. Consider how you would feel if your partner has a different religion and wants to raise the children with those beliefs.

You most likely have some plans for your future. I think we all do. The point in this step is so that you become clearer on your goals and you can more easily determine how important they are to you.

Step three is reviewing your lists from step one and two in order to determine if you are willing to compromise on any of those issues. An example might be if you meet your partner and he or she feels that their goals are more beneficial to the relationship so you are asked to assist in helping them reach their goals while yours are put on hold or forgotten.

Raising children often results in disagreements between the parents. One may have a more liberal style of parenting while the other is very strict and authoritative. Consider how that could be handled. Ideally this is something that would be discussed early in a relationship in order to avoid disputes later.

And the last step I have listed is determining your budgeting style. Some of us are spenders and some of us are savers. Arguments over money are common in relationships. Sometimes having a spender and a saver in the couple is the ideal mix. They tend to smooth the edges of one another. But if you have been on your own for awhile it may be hard to switch styles. Decide how you would handle such a situation if your partner wanted money matters handled differently than you do.

By assessing yourself before you even begin a relationship you will be better equipped to make an intelligent decision about the viability of the partnership. Some relationships may be better left as a friendship than to be pursued as a lifetime partnership.
